UMNO Members Told To Strengthen Party

SEMPORNA, Sabah – Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal wants Umno members to focus on strengthening the party in preparation for the next general election.

He said activities and actions that could weaken the party should be avoided to ensure an overwhelming victory in the polls for Umno and the Barisan Nasional (BN).

“The leadership expects members to be loyal to the party and fully committed to its struggle,” he told reporters after breaking fast with residents of Kampung Senallang at Masjid Saidina Osman, here, last night.

Shafie, who is also Semporna Umno Division chief, said the BN can be confident of victory if all its component parties work together. – BERNAMA
