Temerloh deputy police chief Supt Zundin Mahmood said the men, aged between 20 and 30 years old, were detained in two raids after they had been stealing classic cars and motorcycles since March in the district.
He said five of them were caught while dismantling a lorry at Batu 3, Karak-Mentakab road, here.
“Upon interrogations, police later were led to the arrest of three more syndicate members at a house in Kem Batu 5, Karak-Mentakab road, here and seized dismantled vehicle parts, 43 tyre-rims and 10 tyres,” he told reporters, here.
Zundin said the syndicate would sell the parts to workshops and junkyard operators and he warned that action could be taken if these operators were found in possession of stolen parts. – BERNAMA
