Maintain Unity For Continued Development

KUCHING – Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Alfred Jabu advised the people in Betong to maintain the unity and peace they have been enjoying for continued development and stability in the state.

He said various development projects had been carried out and facilities provided by the federal and state governments to improve the livelihood and provide better living condition for the people, especially in the rural areas.

Jabu, who is also Minister of Agriculture Modernisation and Rural Development, said proper planning was made to ensure implementation of projects would benefit local residents.

These included facilities like roads, electricity, water treatment plants, etc, he said at the presentation of compensation payment to land owners in Betong yesterday.

The recipients were landowners in Kampung Babu, Kampung Bungei, Kampung Lallang, Kampung Supa, Tuie dan Mangut whose land were acquired for the implementation of a flood mitigation project and construction of a service center. – BERNAMA
