Cuba Prepares For National Census

HAVANA – The creation of census areas, the distribution of credentials to students who will carry out the work, and the distribution of questionnaires and other materials mark preparations for a national census in Cuba.

The 1,578 census areas will work from Aug 15 in the territories, director of Population and Housing Census 2012, Juan Carlos Alfonso, told the Juventud Rebelde newspaper.

About 15,700 people will work in these offices for three months and they will be responsible for preparing, executing and controlling the statistical study to be held here from Sept 15 to 24.

Each area will control 12 to 18 districts in urban areas and six to nine in rural areas, according to the characteristics of each territory. – NNN-PRENSA LATINA
