Another Body Found In Tanker Tragedy
KUALA LUMPUR – Another body was recovered in the waters early today, following Thursday’s fire which broke out on board the Malaysian International Shipping Corporation (MISC) ship, MT Bunga Alpinia, causing an explosion in the vessel in Labuan.
The body of the unidentified victim was located about 6.5 nautical miles off Kampung Nagalang in Tanjung Aru about 9am.
This brings to four, the number of bodies recovered in the incident, so far.
Another crewman is still reported missing.
In a statement here, the MISC confirmed that the two bodies recovered yesterday were Malaysians, ordinary seaman Mohd Hanafi Kalil and senior pumpman Zahari Hassim.
Prior to this, MISC verified that Shahril Azmi Baharudin, 28, from Melaka, who worked as a greaser onboard the vessel, had died in the incident. – Bernama
