Kevin Rudd’s Son Married A Malay In Church

Currently causing an uproar on the internet is a story about a Malay woman from Penang who was said to have married the son of a VVIP from Australia in a church.

Through a news report, Nicholas Rudd, 26, son of Kevin Rudd the former Prime Minister of Australia was married at the St James’s Anglican Church in Sydney to his partner Zara Shafruddin, 27.

The wedding was kept secret until the former Prime Minister announced it on his Twitter.

After the ceremony, the newlyweds rode in a limousine to Catalina in Rose Bay for the reception ceremony.

The couple met at the wedding of Jessica, the oldest child of Mr Rudd and his wife Therese Rein in Brisbane in May 2007.

Nicholas Rudd proposed to Zara during an Easter holiday in the Czech Republic in April 2010.

Zara said she was surprised when he went down on his knees in front of her.

“I was not expecting it, but I couldn’t be happier. Not only is he incredibly intelligent, generous and kind, I know I’ve found my soul mate in him,” said Zara Shafruddin.

The newlyweds, both lawyers, work at international law firm Clayton Utz in Sydney.
