SBPA Review Committee Holds 1st Meeting

PUTRAJAYA – The special committee to review the Public Service New Remuneration Scheme (SBPA) held its first meeting today attended by Cuepacs, senior officials of the Public Service Department (PSD), representatives of the Attorney-General’s Chambers and the Finance Ministry.

The two-hour meeting was chaired by former PSD director-general Tan Sri Ismail Adam, who is heading the committee.

“We discussed today the terms of reference for the committee,” he told reporters after the meeting.

He expressed confidence that the committee would be able to complete its task within three months.

To a question, he said, it was still too early to make any recommendation as the committee was still collating the feedback from civil servants, who have until Feb 15 to do so.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak ordered the review following numerous issues raised over the new scheme.  – BERNAMA
