No One Should Be Blamed For Ariff’s Gay Marriage

    December 17, 2011

Recently, a father had requested Utusan Malaysia to find his son, Ariff Alfian Rosli he had lost contact for the last three years.

His son is a medical student in Dublin, Ireland.

The Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM) retired officer who had served for 31 years, Rosli Haron, 56, had almost given up in the search for his second son from all his four children after trying all sorts of things including lodging reports to the police, Wisma Putra, Malaysian Embassy in Ireland and Ireland Embassy here.

Concerned with the matter, the Chairman of UMNO Youth Bureau of Community Complaints, Datuk Muhd. Khairun Aseh had promised that they will take off to United Kingdom (UK) this December 23 to meet Foreign UMNO Club in UK and Ireland to look for Ariff Alfian.

Muhd. Khairun said, as for now, his side are still collecting a few information regarding Ariff Alfian so that the search could be done.

But everything was later confirmed that Ariff Alfian is safe there.

The Malaysian Embassy in Ireland, Datuk Ramli Naam said that his side had known that Ariff Alfian has been in the country since he started studying.

However, he said, the embassy and Wisma Putra cannot reveal any further information regarding the student who was formerly sponsored by Petronas as it is part of the Dublin Personal Data Protection Act.

But what is more surprising is that the student was said to have been married with a man named  Jonathan there.

A few of his wedding pictures with the foreign man were then spread in a website,  bigayweddingproject.com.

What is more surprising is that the wedding was believed to have been performed in a church where he was in a black baju melayu, complete with samping and a golden tanjak.

His partner who maybe in his late 30s was in a black suit.

The website that was believed to be a huge support for gay weddings had uploaded 15 pictures as the ceremony went along.

Few of the pictures include the image where the couple took a group picture as they celebrate the marriage.
There were also two other picture of the foreign man getting ready before the marriage ceremony began.

According to the statement that was mentioned along with the pictures that was believed to be uploaded on September 20, the couple was their first client for the website.

Writer just do not know how to respond with this.

In this matter,  Ariff Alfian’s family is the one who are under huge pressure.

As the their son is enjoying his moment with a man, the parents may be crying now.

Why wouldn’t they cry? They had taught him just about everything that he even managed to study abroad has now humiliate them.

In this matter, writer urge that we should not put the blame on the parents…no parents in this world ever want their child to be like this.

Writer would not know what to do being in his parents’ shoe as this is just something demeaning not just to our religion, but also to our race and nation.

This is how it is if someone became too liberal, everything is okay to them as long as it supports freedom and human rights.

Writer did came across a statement made by lawyer, Zainul Rijal Abu Bakar.

He said that human rights should not contradict with the main principal in the Constitution.

This right is somehow seen to legalizing just about anything so that it could fulfill their lust.

Maybe today they want the rights for homosexuals.

Maybe in the future, they would want to have the rights for incest or even having sex with animals.

That is why rights should be respected and no one can stop it.

This approach seemed wrong with the main principe of the Federal Constitution and it goes against Islam.

But this group should not be harassed. Instead, we should guide them back to the reality.

It’s true that his parents should not be blamed for his stupid action. In fact we should pity for his parents since they now are facing a big issue regarding their son’s action. They are now have to find a great sum of money to settle for their son’s scholarship with Petronas or else they will be sued by Petronas. Hopefully there is a way to help his parents regarding this matter and for Alfian himself hope he will be back for good and it is never too late for him to repent.

    • Adireza2404

Doubt that he will return, maybe in the next turn of century, but it is his responsibility to settle his matters with Petronas, should not let his parents shoulder that burden, but then if he is a self centered bugger, he won’t care about his parents, he has shown thus so far…how long did the father search for him…oh yes 36 months, anyone has any doubt as to his current predisposition ?

  • Karl

If he still wanna be a gay until his last breath, we can’t stop him. BUT, as a human, he should be responsible for his debt, not his parents.

  • Ptr2lawrence

Wasn’t he on a full scholarship and a fully sponsored Petronas student! So there was no “consideration” passing from Encik Rosli to Petronas except his signature to endorse a legally binding document. So this makes him a “Principal Borrower” and liable for a debt that he did not incur? Next, he will be made a bankrupt and a part of the existing statistic of errant debtors which he is not! Allow me to divert to equally crucial issues! High time the government looks into the existing Bankruptcy Act and revise areas which implicate guarantors e.g age, social status and employment. Building Societies, banks and other financial institutions also should step up measures to ease loan application processes and ease taxpayers burdens. The think-tank of the nation should study and devise means and ways to improve the country and its economy. Community’s needs should be addressed without fear, prejudice or bias. I want to see a more “learned Malaysia” ,an educated and alert society! A society without pains and this message goes a long way! Ariff, as humans with faults and also who have sinned, we have not right to question your despair, your heartache and your pains. We have no right to accuse you and be judgemental of your “misconduct” in the eyes of Islam and the jurisdiction. We hope that by now you would have already realized the “misfortune” that had befallen your immediate and respectable family. As a true son and a muslim, be responsible for your actions and take immediate remedial steps. If you can’t, do us this favour, don’t ever set foot on Malaysian shores and save yourself from further humiliation and disgrace. Malaysians are not that forgiving!! May Allah keep you under his constant care and guidance.

  • Reb

i feel sorry for his parents. Be a man (if he is still one ) to owned up to his debt.

    • nur kasih

Reb…I agreed with you….I feel sorry for his parents too but the truth  that is how the challenge being a parents…I hope he is still be a man too….but it’s seems he is no longer one, coz he is now became a wife or a husband (so called) to a white men name jonathan.

  • TheLIBERALS

The writer of this article is absolutely one-sided. You’re another gullible and blinded by the religion and Malaysian constitution. Do you know how many children of many rich Datuk2, Tan Sri2, an so on have gay children themselves? Well, of course, their children never goes publicly announcing their sexuality. In this case, it is not the government or anybody business to interfere in someone’s life. ”
This right is somehow seen to legalizing just about anything so that it could fulfill their lust.

Maybe today they want the rights for homosexuals.”
So what if being a Muslim and gay, and they want equal footing and rights as human being with the rest of Malaysian? Let me post this question to the writer. What Ariff has done to you until you posed your own opinion to him and asking the readers to enforce/agree with your sadistic opinion? Being gay does not mean that they prefer to have sex with animals as well? I said you are gullible because you are hypocrite.

Being a straight man myself that does not mean that I want to fuck every woman I met. And being Liberals does not mean I prefer polygamy. I am a Liberals myself and support women’s rights, gay’s rights, and we are all born equal. No matter what gender, religion, race, and sexual preferences — this is why the western world move forward, and Malaysia went backward. How one nation can progress like many other progressive countries when their government controlled them in a police state.  So for those gullible Malaysian like yourself seeing what not normal to you mean is wrong. You’re one pathetic human being. Wait until one day you or any of your friends or family members were in the same shoes as Ariff. What will you then? Commit suicide? Living a double life? Do you know how many important political figures, celebrities, and so on are either gay or bi-sexual? Please don’t act as if you are the “alim ulamak person”, when you yourself never puasa or pray 5 times a day. Only use religion as a propaganda to advance your hidden agenda.

Remember, Mr.Writer, Ariff will go to different “Kubur”, and you as well has one too. So just keep on asking your children not born being gay or “pondan”. Oh, another thing, please pray that your children “doa” banyak2 when you died. Otherwise, nobody will visit your “kubur” and baca surah yassin and tahlil for you. What a bigotry!

the law of Al-Quran will never change no matter in which era u live in… Haram will always be Haram.. who are u to change Allah’s law by halalling what He already said haram???

      • TheUNKNOWN

Hi Jhazkittaro, whatever the fuck your name was..
Go and FUCK yourself. Al-Quran is not a law, it’s is a Kitab that Muslim follows, in Al-Quran there was history of the past on humankind, and that goes the same thing with Bible. Now, if you haven’t study enough about world religious, then I suggest that you do. If you want to implement HUDUD law just like what PAS is trying to do in Kelantan, then live in Kelantan state. Malaysia law follows British colonial law, and it is the law of the land, not some kind of Al-Quran law. Get your fact straight before making Islam a laughing matter, because an idiot like you don’t even know what the FUCK you talking about. Malaysia can’t never implement Islamic law when there are many other etnicities/races live in Malaysia. That’s what the beauty of being Malaysian. Not some kind of fanatic thinking and upholding Al-Quran is law. Are you belong to Islamic fanatic group?

I totally agreed with you alif_dusun abt TheUnknown. I think he is way more stupid than aliff alfian.

        • nur kasih

to unknown….i can bet you know nothing abt al-quran…so u better shut yr mouth off!!! you’re way too much…I can bet…u r not even hv a religion yrself… oh…bytway why your name is TheUNKNOWN ??? bcoz it’s shows who you really are…not knowing anything…ha..ha..ha bodohnya engkaunni…bengap…pekak badak.. .

          • Anthony

And you know nothing about reality and logic. You only know about the imaginary man up in the sky who never appears, you only know about the Quran which could be a product of human themselves. How would having much knowledge in a fable book justify your intelligence?

        • pokerface

so what you’re saying is if a christian or a muslim, or a buddhist follow their beliefs they belong to the fanatic group? wow CAPTAIN DISCRIMINATE strikes again. well since
you simply relate and discriminate religious people belongs in a fanatic group, according to your logic, you belong in a fanatic group as well, doesn’t it? the one that simply labels religious people finatic. Well what you said is half true nonetheless because malaysia follows the colonial law I’ll give ya that, but that DOES NOT give you any right to say whatever you want about any religion you abomination. Again, YOU’RE ARGUMENT IS INVALID.

      • Blue_fm7

They just don’t get it!! ha! moron..

      • Anthony

proof please. just because it says that “it’s in god’s will doesn’t mean that it does”. You are delusional. Amazing how god never spoke to man again ever since the invention of video camera nor recorder. you live your life based on fable that proclaims itself to be the truth and proclaims itself to be the word of god but without any scientific evidence or any accepted logic. amazing how god created the universe in 6 days with nothing but needed adam’s rib cage to create eve. ahh imagine if 2000 years from now, someone found the book lord of the rings and believe it to be a divine event.

      • Anthony

What you believe is based on what you were taught since you were little and you have sentimental obligation and conviction to protect it, it was never about protecting this “truth” that never came with valid hypothesis and evidences. yes sir i’m obviously an atheist but the world is sick when people regard those who are wise as someone who talks but never provide physical proof, just words from Quran which could be written. Did you live to witness everything written? No, but you still protect it because you got brainwashed by a book that makes the impression of “everything here is the truth and shall always be the truth and you shall never question it because you will go to hell and prove that apocalypse will be close to kill the misguided” .. Wow, sounds like a way to shut you up from questioning.

      • Anthony

I always find it funny how it’s always the humans who do the talking but never god, these low intelligence humans worry that people will think them as crazy will of course say “hey, god said it..you can’t disagree with god, he will be upset and put you in hell”. Even if there is god, he won’t give a slight damn to discriminate his creations. Now, don’t you ever say “hey,it’s god’s test”. Well, the muslims believe that god knows every outcome and fate that his people will face since he is the one that writes it, if he knows the outcome, why test you?

People in denial with my question will say “oh, we were given free will”

Bingo, “free will” ..but wait, becoming a gay and told to not to..contradicted god’s gift huh.

  • Shah

I am not someone who judge or someone who discriminate. I am fine with anyone, be you are a gay, lesbo, transgend or watsoeva u wanna call urself is. I myself is a proud androgynous. I wont blame him for wateva steps he took in his life, that’s his right. But to MAKE UR PARENTS SHOULDER ALL UR DEBTS, I am quite off with it. His parents have done their job well by bringing up someone as smart, intelligent n brilliant like he is. If he is not that good, he wont even pass the Petronas interview for the scholars. And yeah, the humiliation!? Does his parents deserved that? No parents deserve that. I don’t care if he wanna be married, but he should know better as a Malaysian that all these are still taboo. Even if u r born in South Carolina or being any southener, ur family will be put to shame because of u. And if u r a black and gay, that even worse. U can be beaten up. It just that sometimes u need to think bout other people in ur life. That’s not living double life but being considerate. Please remember, ur life affects other people’s life. And ya, what if one day his parents pass away!? They will, he will, we all will. Can he brings himself here and face the music? Hmm. A reality that everyone need to think bout.

I hate to say this but your article angers me a lot especially the part “Maybe in the future, they would want to have the rights for incest or even having sex with animals.” Just because someone is homosexual does not mean they do not have feelings, it does not mean they are animals or even sex addict weirdos.

Homosexuals have long been denied their existance in Malaysia. People pretend they do not exist but the truth is they’re everywhere in Malaysia. Just open your eyes and look around. Some of them are even high profile government workers, teachers,
lawyers, doctors, factory workers, celebrities, akak jual burger could
be a lesbian and there’s probably a gay minister in Malaysia we would
not have a clue. They live among us. They contribute to the nation like any other fellow Malaysians. They pay taxes like you do. They probably have to go through more stress and living with depression as media and our lovely society keep pressing them telling them their an embarrassment to the country and that there’s no place for them in this world. What would you do when you find out you’re son/daughter is gay. Stab your son/daughter with a knife? I suggest read more about homosexuality and get to understand them.

The point is i’m so tired of reading hateful comments posted by people who are ignorant. Nowadays, how many Malays do perform prayers 5 times a day? Stop using religion as a tool to attack people. I understand it’s a safety blanket but I notice that Malaysians these days are getting backward day by day. The whole thing of keep up with the rest of the world and achieve the so called Wawasan 2020 would not be a reality if our perspective of the world is still at Taman Negara. I feel ashamed having to explain to foreigners about silly things that happened in Malaysia.

Everyday if you read Metro, Berita Harian, NST or The Star, most likely you will either get stories about fathers raping their children, car accidents, robbery, fraud and so on. I see these stories since I learn to read. It became numb and boring. Why cant we as malaysians focus our energy on improving our country? Stop getting jealous of Singapore. Get the politicians to do their work as they always promised. Vote for better Malaysia and whoever that can steer the country to achieve better results. Don’t just follow whatever that is said religiously without analysing the whole thing. I think many Malaysians are lazy, too comfortable and can be dumb. We take things for granted. The rich get even richer and fat and the poor struggling to even survive. The cost of living is high in Malaysian and the pay is low and crap. Work conditions are really bad. Hate to say this as well, i have traveled the world, it’s only in Malaysia i get to see job advertisements that read: female only, chinese only, muslim only. I can go on and on but I think i better stop here. If you want to reply i welcome your opinions.

    • TheUNKNOWN

      Muhammad Saidin,
I am with you on this matter. The writer is absolutely one-sided in his reporting. No wonder he is not a professional writers. His views about sexual preferences is so degrading and demeaning to humankind. Just you were born straight, that mean people have to agree with your straight life. I love Malay Men when every time they want to get married to have second, third, or fourth wives, they love to use “sunnah nabi” for that matter, But, when it comes to follow the Islamic practice, they never want to adhere by the muslim practice to the thee. Only when it convenient and suit their personal agenda — they’ll abide by it.

Homosexuals have walked among us all of this years. They just want to be happy like others too. Why can’t they live their lives the way they should? Being a straight man myself, I never once thinking I could fuck every woman I met, or even an animals? You so FUCKING retarded Mr.Writer. You have no values in human life, and why you even should live your life? Go and FUCK yourself or hang yourself for that matter. PATHETHIC!!

    • Blue_fm7

Muhammad Sahidin: I thinked you’ve made the right decision to stop commenting. The actual reason here is ab0ut Ariff is born Muslim n his turning his back on teaching of the Al-Quran. No one is against on people’s right. Only best wishes for Ariff. Pray he’ll find his way back as a Muslim. Amin.

  • Oneeyedman

if he’s gay. let him be. we don’t even know him before this. what do we care? he’s not even our relative.just because he’s moslem and a malay does not mean we can judge him or meddle in his matter. malays are always pretentious when it comes to this kind of matter. don’t say you care when you really don’t give a shit. fuck him ( not literally lorr ). if he’s happy with whatever he did, let him be maaa. he has only his family to answer to. not us. take a look around, gays, lesbian etc are everywhere. do they bother you? no? then why the sudden uproar? daamit.. stop poking the nosey noses into some else’s matter. take care of out own families. jangan gajah depan mata tak nampak, kuman seberang laut nampak.

    • Ediana

Because u r not muslim.. just keep quite.. all islam is our families in AKHIRAT.. thts y we should care each others.. Bukan sebab jaga tepi kain or wat.. now we can see kuman if we have mickroscope maa…

      • Normal Human

So is that why you can kill your own family if thy refuse to follow your way???

        • TheUNKNOWN

Ediana, how old are you by the way? I guess you are such a bitch that just love being submissive and accepting that all muslim should be the same. You are wrong again. For instance, Muslim brotherhood always fighting withe each other, take a look what had happened to the Shiite and Sunni in Iraq? Look at Iran for Godsake, and what about what’s happening to Egypt and the the Middle East. You are so fucking cunt! Get a life BIARCH!

          • nur kasih

to TheUNKNOWN….why must only when muslim brotherhood fighting you focusing???….when chinese, indian and other races fighting…you don’t make an issues ? buta ke..engkau ni….i like to suggest…you better shut your mouth off…la..the more…you talk…the more you shows your stupidtly

          • pokerface

I take it you’re american or an athiest? So, the word muslim directly makes you relate at Arabs? terrorists? well now, surely you know that muslims consists more than just the arabs. There’s chinese, indians, european, malays, barazilians, africans, a whole lot more actually. So if you’re implying that the muslims always fight each other than I should ask you, how old are you? you’re the one that’s immature you sad little pri*ck =_=” the words you typed clearly states you level of maturity and you IQ. sooo YOUR ARGUMENT IS INVALID and GET A LIFE BIARCH.

        • nur kasih

not killing wahai encik Normal Human, but helping them and bringing him back to the right path. Of course…this  it not an easy tasks to do..that’s why in islam we have jihad!  as being a muslim…I am sure you aware of it! am I right ?

    • mk_nazz

excuse me.. in islam we need to help each other.. if they hve some prblem, we need to help them.. i think he had made a wrong dcsion based on islam rule la.. so we need to teach him and bring him back to the real way as an muslim..

    • rcky5675

agree with you…arif is an adult n he has his own mind..let him answer to his parents n his God not to any other meddling sobs who all seem to be so damn righteous…THERE IS NO RELIGION ON EARTH WHICH SUPPORT SAME SEX MARRIAGES OR RELATIONSHIPS.. so please leave religion out of it..

    • nur kasih

to Oneeyedman…yes I agreed with you, he is an adult man, charming and brilliant too. by right in any decision he’s made, it’s shows who he really are. this isn’t abt he is happy or not, this is abt…something not right! if he is happy throwing shit into your face…do you think you still want to be quiet and let him be ?? or other example…if you have neighbours likes to play fire near to your house, do you think you still wanna to live in the same areas…just bcoz he  is happy with what he is doing ????  of  course something not right laaa…so our duties to make it, right.

  • Melikey

I grew up with lots of gay and lesbian friends and i am totally fine with it even though im a straight. They are all just like us except for their sex life so i guess we should just let Ariff be happy with his life. Maybe what he did was very wrong in the eyes of some people but take a look around, theres probably some of them walk, work or eat around you. And to say “having sex with animal” is too much, please have some respect to other peoples life!!! To Ariff’s parent, they have the right to feel how they felt towards him but please also understand,a straight man cant change to became a gay overnight, he probably born with it.

  • lavender

Good article Syahril..Islam is a better way of life..Human rights has limit and we have to go back to basics of Islamic way of thinking..moderation..not too liberal..

    • Muhammad Saidin

Maybe Islamic way of thinking should progress with time and be more inclusive flexible and accepting instead of shoving religion down people’s throat for the sake of it.

      • Norme0405

muhammad saidin..are you saying Islamic ways of thinking are outdated because it does not progress with time..well,let me tell you that it does not need to progress with time. it is the muslim people who should be more accepting about Islamic ways.i waste my 5 minute to write a comment because i care about my brother because all muslim are brothers..i know some people write hateful comment, and who can blame them?..you read some hateful comment from other people and you assume that their comment was an Islamic ways of thinking..that just plain wrong

” instead of shoving religion down people’s throat for the sake of it”…no one is shoving any religion down to anyone throat..i can see that you very accepting about this gay or lesbian thing..if you can accept that why cant you accept that some people out there cant accept this gay thing or same gender marriage…

In Al-Quran clearly stated that same gender marriage is prohibited and as a muslim alfian should know that.but it seem he does not care about hukum Islam..he disrespect hukum Islam so it is normal if u read some hateful or angry comment regarding this issue..like in a school, the school law clearly stated that stealing is not allowed but still some student steal item from their friends..are you going to accept an act like that?are you still going to say something like “we should be more accepting to theft because they are around us eating, sleeping and living..please open your eyes”?

he is gay and look what situation he put his family in..his family has to pay big amount of money to petronas. he enjoyed himself and married with a guy..totally forgot what consequences of his action might do to his family..From what i can see here,he is no longer thinking like a normal human being..normal human being with good mind will not do thing like that..so are you still going to get angry reading some hatefull comment about him?

        • Blue_fm7

          Norme0405,
I totally AGREE with your comment.. it’s about being a Muslim n the hukums that has been written u cannot denied.. the shame he brought to his family and Muslim bro’s. VERY SAD …

    • Hi

mencabut nyawa adalah tugasan tuhan… manusia hanyalah sebutir debu di sisi tuhan… nda marahkan org… awak tu sembyg cukupakah 5 waktu sehari?

    • Lemon

    him?
Q=  who can confirm his ‘Islam’ status?
Q= even tho he is the main borrower, PETronas will go after guarantor, can a guarantor withdraw from this agreement?
Btw..hated all those stupid childish egoist comments from bottom of the list !!
get a life = focus on issue, not personal attack guys

  • Pokerface

the thing is he said that he is still muslim, one can have a status as a muslim, however their degree of iman is down to themselves. A muslim can be on the path of the truth or he can went astray. just pray that Allah will send him hidayah. sometimes, reality can be weirder than fiction , what society ridicule today might be accepted tomorrow, that’s what the writer is trying to imply. Although in an extreme manner I would say.
