JPJ To Act Against Cars With HID Light
DUNGUN – The Road Transport Department (JPJ) will step up enforcement against motorists who install high-intensity discharge (HID) light or what is known as the “white light” on their vehicles, state JPJ director Abdul Rahman Emang Anyie said.
This follows an increase in the use of such device, which he said could cause disturbance to other road users.
“We will issue notice to them and followed by compound fines if they continue using these lights,” he told reporters at a traffic enforcement operation in Bukit Besi, here last night.
He said the glare from HID lights could distract other road users, causing accidents.
A total of 137 summonses and notices were issued in the operation which started from 3pm to midnight and participated by agencies such as the police, Environment Department, National Anti-narcotics Agency and Land Public Transport Commission. – BERNAMA
