Cycle To Workplace In Malacca

MALACCA – All state government agencies and departments including Local Authorities were urged to hold a program to respond to the Cycle To Workplace Campaign.

Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam said, the Cycle To Workplace Campaign was aimed to realizing the goal for A Green Technology Town State towards 2020.

“This campaign is also aimed to reduce environment pollution and we encourage all the people in this state to follow this cycle campaign,” he said here today.

To achieve this campaign, Mohd Ali with several Exco members, chiefs and government department officers today cycled a distance of approximately two kilometers to the workplace today.

He and together with about 100 participants started cycling from the Chief Minister’s house in Seri Bendahara, in Ayer Keroh and arrived at Seri Negeri at exactly 8am.

In accordance with that, Mohd Ali said, the program was carried out today as the first step for government officers and the public to use a bicycle to get to their workplace.

In fact, he said, he will cycle to his office in Seri Negeri on every Friday to respond to the campaign.

The Federal government previously appointed Malacca as the first model green technology state.  – mynewshub.my
